.
Mark and I got out and put his .308 and 6mm bolt action rifles through the paces today.

The .308 is a great rifle in it's own rights but difficult to appreciate when you're completely distracted by the sheer elegance, beauty, and stunning accuracy of the 6mm precision instrument.

It was absolutely beautiful outside, sunny and 45° at the Seattle Rifle and Pistol Club in Machias. Even the deer were not phased by the crack of the rifles as they lazily grazed their way across the tops of the 200 yard berms where our targets were located. The deer even took a moment to pause and observe, as if scrutinizing our shot groups and sizing up our skills (or lack thereof in my case). It gave us reason to cease fire and let the barrels cool as they inspected our work. I'm looking forward to alot more of this in the coming summer days.

Great company, great shooting, great day!

It is a members only range but they do open it to the public for a per person fee one day a week I believe. Mark just got his membership application accepted and we did the orientation last week. He has the keys to the castle now.

I’m still an active member at Marysville Rifle Club in Smokey Point so we get to choose now. You should coordinate with me MF if you ever get an inkling to hang out with an asshole and get some shooting in at the same time. I believe that MRC is pretty close to your neck of the woods.
