Tired of washing my hands/blankets/comforters/dog beds/couches....endless floor sweeping. Thank god shedding season is over. Being a member of a pack has many advantages, but ease of tidiness is not one of them.

I feel god awe full at some of you folks with the real beasts, like GlockGirls mountain Bantha’s. Add all that into A Saturday night dinner with guests and drinking and rug rats laying LEGO pungee stick anti-personnel traps.I feel like hitting this place with a hose...but then I’d be chasing beer cans down the street.

Our Bagle (Beagle/Basset) had really short hair.
But she apparently shedded so much we constantly pulled enough dog hair out of the vacuum canister to make a sweater.

I got 2 cats. One a long hair, one medium hair. The fur balls could be seen constantly all over the floor. I picked up a roomba and the difference is amazing! No more fur balls! The only downside is it has to be emptied daily. Now if I could just find a self maintained litter box

We use a Diaper Genie...you know, plastic thing for diapers....

Wifey scoops twice a day into plastic grocery bags, puts 'em in the Diaper Genie.....once a week, I empty it when I take the trash to the curb.

No mess, no smell...

Have 3 Bassett Hound in the house, straight hair that stabs and sticks into everything and they she'd year round.
Hard wood floors, blanket throws over the couch.
Swiffer the floors a couple times a week, vacuum what carpet we do have at same time, can do all that in 10 minutes.
Blanket throws on the couch and anywhere else they lay gets changed a couple to once a week and goes into the wash, fabric softener in wash and dryer helps release the hair over straight detergent big time.
Winter time we keep towels next to the door to wipe them down as they come in, keeps the crap they drag in to a minimum.

An lastly, fuck it. If my family or friends don't like my dog hair, don't come over!
An wash their toys every once in a while, after they've been chewing on them for a day, the toys stink.

We use those raised dog beds that is built from mesh and pvc pipe. Work great, easy to clean and wash, and it dries fairly quickly. Then she gets a blanket for on top. Help cut down the costs of other beds as she would chew them up in a matter of a few weeks. Costco has these real nice throw blankets for $10. Every month we wash our dog's blanket, but after about 6 months it just needs to be tossed. When I brought home the new blanket she didn't move from it for about three hours. I guess yesterday she was dragging it around the house with her.

Our dog has just a single coat of hair, but it is the short stab your clothes variety. Weekly sweeping and vacuuming help, the back of my Durango is a lost cause though. Dealing with mess and biproducts of animals is just the nature of the beast. I wonder if our pets ever think, 'why the hell are they cleaning so much? Don't they know we like messes and funky smells?'

I'll take an entire floor covered in dog hair over a rogue LEGO. I step on one of those fuckers in the middle of the night and the whole neighborhood is going to hear about it.
