This maybe a dumb question by now. National forest have very simple rules here https://www.fs.fed.us/visit/know-before-you-go/shooting. Why it is so hard to find a place to shoot in public land? For example, why couldn't I shoot it here (47.371083, -121.405899)?

Welcome to the forum.

What do you like to shoot?

I don't see why you couldn't shoot there, unless there was something in effect for the area.

Quote from the page. "Check your local ranger district for more information about local restriction."

You can shoot there if you really want to. It’s the side of a hill though, so it’s not going to be easy. May also still be inaccessible due to snow. There are a couple of flat spots around there where you may get to 20 yards tops, unless you can find a longer path between the trees. There are more opportunities further down the main road, but the road turns to crap and is very overgrown.

USFS land is generally very open here. Only major closure in the area is along 90 and through the middle fork. Also the Hanson pit closure was a real dick move on their part. Biggest barrier is topography.

DNR land has many more great shooting opportunities nearby, but DNR is run by hard left libtards and they’ve closed every road in King County which leads to a pit or clearing miles out and posted for no target shooting. Ignore the fudds who claim closures are due to trash. If that were the case, the signs would prohibit dumping, not shooting. Signed shooting closures is simply socio-political warfare.

Looks like It would be fine to me as long as you were 150 yards from the road and shooting in the correct direction. You could have just said off Mill Creek Road. I remember some of that area from back in 2000 when we built a customers place up at Gold Creek Pond.

Thanks for all the response. I did not mean to shoot there. I was trying to use an example to clarify the rule.
