Today was the first day of the "real" show. Let me tell you . . . DAMN that place is big! icon_eek We walked all damned day, and still only covered about half of it, and we weren't spending a lot of time at any one booth, either. This place is HUGE!

We ran into a few other WaGuns members today, which was really cool:

- Kelly Bachand and his wife, Valerie. They always take the time to say hello, and Kelly was wearing his WaGuns patch. thumbsup
- DeltaBravo, Doug. One of our regular buddies from the WAC shows.
- Anthony.L
- woodinvillegunlawyer, Keith
- NWTPdesignteam, Rich and Jeff and Mary from Northwest Tactical Products

We know that WAGunRights, Thede&Co, and Dave Workman are lurking in the area too, but we didn't see them today.

Let's get to the pics! Yes, we found the mythical 7.62x39 Pmag from Magpul, though Brandon wasn't able to get his grubby little hands on any to bring home since they aren't shipping to retailers until this Friday:

Image

Here's a cutaway of an MP5, kinda cool:

Image

And a tribute to Mikhail, without whom we wouldn't be stressing about those damned Pmags:

Image

We saw some really cool chassis . . . chassises . . . chassi? from Cadex. These made me want to spend some cash on my Rem 700:

Image

Image

Here's Brandon grilling the Beretta dude about the ARX100. We started out thinking it was a POS, and finally concluded that it's pretty cool due to its ambidextrous quick-change features:

Image

Here's a view of both the Desert Tan and Black versions of the Promag Archangel stocks for the Mosin. The Desert Tan is holding an M44, and the Black an M91/30:

Image

Here's the Remington R51 that we were so excited about. Some of these have Crimson Trace lasers on them:

Image

Here are a couple of general shots to give you a feel for what the show looks like. Don't mind the weird dude in the first photo.

Image

Image

The UTAS display had some pretty colors:

Image

Image

Here's a Tavor cutaway:

Image

And here's the 9mm conversion kit for the Tavor:

Image

At the Century booth they had a pretty good PAP display. Clockwise starting in the upper left corner: Standard PAP M92PV pistol, PAP M92PV pistol with Krinkov-style muzzle brake, PAP pistol with the Century wrist brace, and PAP M85PV (5.56x45) pistol.

Image

Century also had a Chinese Type 53 Mosin carbine on display in the Archangel stock. I'm guessing that someone at Century was staring at a warehouse full of Type 53 carbines with really shitty stocks, and said, "I wonder if there's an opportunity here...".

Image

We had a really interesting conversation with a woman at the EAA (European American Armory) booth about the Pavona pistols. These were designed with the ladies in mind, and these features were specifically mentioned:
- Cool colors, obviously.
- Large cuts on the rear of the slide to make it easier to rack.
- Lighter recoil spring, again to make it easier to rack.
And yes . . . the slide was pretty easy to work, I liked it. Those cuts make a difference! These pistols are available in .380, 9mm and .40, all with the same frame. The pics:

Image

CZ had some badass rifles on display . . . gotta love the four positions on the selector. That's a lotta dots!

Image

This is Kel-Tec's M43 bullpup in 5.56x45. This sucker has some retro styling . . . I can't decide if I like it or not, but it's definitely a unique look!

Image

Image

For those that like wood . . . on their AR rifles, Windham Weaponry had some to show off:

Image

Brandon continued his paparazzi ways, this time harassing The Gunny. He also continued to shout out every time we saw Colion Noir pass us in the aisle. :facepalm2:

Image

Dan's shopping for a new vehicle for his wife. Even in Vegas, the search continues:

Image

And lastly . . . the mini-gun. :AR15firing:

Image

I'm fucking exhausted. It's gonna be a long week . . . .

:diggin:

Yes. Here are my secrets:

1) Set camera to "Auto."
2) Photoshop

:thumbsup2:

Today I learned to use the lens correction feature in Photoshop . . . ooooh. :inlove: The lens I'm using is fairly wide-angle (16mm), and I get some barrel distortion in the photos. One click in Photoshop though, and POOF it's gone!

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say those CZ rifles aren't for Johnny Civilian.

The wood on the Kel-Tec Bullpups I think is sexy...

I saw the Magpul 7.62 x 39 MM Magazine. Did you guys hit the Magpul Booth yet? Just curious if there is anything down the line upcoming that is good and if they mention at all their current political climate with moving their business out of Colorado?

I stopped in yesterday and they were really tight lipped about the move actually... I mentioned an article I wrote a while back about the growing tension over the move and just got a glazed over look...

They didn't mention anything new, when asked they gave the standard "we have cool new stuff coming." for a company built off its customers I sure didn't get the impression they cared much about them... Although being media, a lot of places don't want to have candid conversations with me.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. That is a company for you. in the end, they are in the industry to make money. I am sure you guys are very busy and slightly over whelmed. Not speaking for you, I would definitely be overwhelmed.
Continue to have a great show and will be looking forward to more reports/news.

When we were there, one of the Magpul guys talked about the move with us. We just chatted at a high level though, we didn't get too in-depth. And no, we didn't discuss any upcoming products except the AK mag.

So what kind of "goodies" were passed out as souvenirs?

Key chains?
Stickers?
Pens?
Grip things?
Bottle Openers?

What booth gave out the best one?
