So, I have been talking to the directors at North Cascades Sportsman's Club in Chelan about doing some long range shooting over there for fun. Seems pretty reasonable and willing to work with us to set it up. During the weekend it's only $5 for non members so a great deal! We can rent the range during the week for a fair price which is pretty reasonable. The rifle range is up to 1,000 yards but their property is only 500 yards and the other 500 is DNR. Fire hazard during the summer months restrict long distance to 100 yards. So, it's early spring or late late fall for longer distances. So, I have several questions... 1) has anyone shot here? 2) who would be interested in heading up there for a weekend? Quote: The North Cascade's Sportman's Club is where friends meet to enjoy their favorite shooting activity. Offering trap, skeet, pistol, a 1000 yd. rifle range and clubhouse, the NCSC can meet just about any of your shooting needs.
Established in 1992, the North Cascade Sportsman's Club is the Lake Chelan community's premier gun club. Located just 12 miles from beautiful downtown Chelan, it offers a well equipped range and comfortable clubhouse to greet shooters. Skeet and trap ranges are available as well as a pistol, rifle and a black powder ranges. http://www.chelangunclub.com/

I have property in Lake Chelan and been a member of North Cascades the past three years. The rifle range is small, I want to say 5 tables. The tables are old and beat. The first 400 yards is fairly flat, however past that the targets go up the hill side. So to reach the longest target (800-1000 yards) you are using a considerable angle upward.
The price can't be beat, but the range reflects the price.

Well... would your property near Lake Chelan be conducive to a meet up and camp out?

I wish! The property is water front, with more up on the hillside. Nothing out in the open, or large acreage.
I will be in Chelan first week of April and was planning on stopping by the club for a round or two of trap/skeet. While there I will check out the rifle range and see if they have made any improvements. Next to the rifle range they do have two 50 yard pistol bays which are nice, but no target stands, gotta bring your own.

There you go, this picture illustrates what I was describing. The long range targets are up on that hillside in the far background.

My business partner and I are in the process of securing approx. 30 acres in the vicinity of Chewelah top build the ABSOLUTE BEST precision rifle facility on the west coast. We have shipping containers on order to make multi level firing positions, about 5K lbs of AR500, and jack shit else to do this summer as we have both left the military. So, my plan is to have it up and running full time in the fall, but we will HOPEFULLY be hosting some long range shoots during the later summer months.

Theres no reason we cant all be friends, especially when we need strong backs for the manual labor.
We will probably be needing atleast two welders to spend some time on site, a dozer crew, and a shovel goon.

Well, if you want to make friends... You have a quite a few "in line" already. As you can see we like shooting ranges and this would be so cool. So, I would love to help. I'm not too handy but I am a pretty fast learner. Start a thread and we'll volunteer quite a bit of help from here... Let us know what, where and when
