Looking for experienced coyote hunter in the Snohomish area.

This weekend my wife and I took our three dogs out for a walk in the DNR bordering our property. In short, dogs took off after a coyote but we were able to call them back before they were ambushed. Normally I only hunt coyotes on my property but will be making a special exception this weekend and will hunt them in the DNR.

Haven't decided if I want to hunt them in the dark but need a partner as bears and cougars have been spotted in the area and I need someone to cover my six. So if you have a hunting license, proficient with hunting coyotes, have an electronic predator call, silencer, and optics to run at night (preferably Thermal) shoot me a PM and we can discuss options.

I have all of the above and want to make sure we can work in tandem.

Bo

I believe you can hunt coyotes at night. As I read the regs a few years back, that is the only thing you can shoot at night.

Reading is fundamental http://www.eregulations.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/21WAHD-LR2.pdf

Quote:
NIGHT HUNTING AND HOUND
HUNTING DURING DEER AND
ELK HUNTING SEASONS
Hunting at night:
• It is unlawful to hunt bobcat and raccoon at
night during modern firearm deer or elk general
seasons that occur in October and November in
eastern and western Washington. A small game
license is required to harvest a bobcat.
• Hunting big game with the aid of an artificial light,
spotlight, or night vision equipment is prohibited.
Night vision equipment includes electronic light
amplification devices, thermal imaging devices,
and other comparable equipment used to enhance
night vision. Coyote may be hunted at night with
lights year round, EXCEPT it is unlawful to hunt
coyote at night during modern firearm deer or
elk general seasons that occur in October and
November in eastern and western Washington.

You're out. Don't even know the regs. Do you have the required equipment? Sorry, not taking on a novice at this time.

Yes, dogs are fine. Thanks for asking. When the dogs ran off we heard a very loud high pitch yelp like a dog got hit by a car. It was the coyote get chased and calling for the pack.

Shot one my first time out. Ever since then they got the memo. Every time they see me, they run. Fast.

Yote season is 24/7 year round, except no night hunting during regular hunting season. No limits.

Basturds. Them smart.

If your location is correct being Snohomish, consult local county laws regarding hunting near populated areas. Pierce County has a "No Hunting" map. Perhaps you can find one for your county.

Good luck.

DNR is in a GMU so I'm good to go. I live in a private neighborhood and everyone owns at least 5 acres. We're also in a unrestricted shooting area of unincorporated Snohomish.

My property borders the DNR so park on my property and walk to the hunting grounds.

Wish you weren’t way up north. I would help you out. I just don’t have time to drive that far north.
I skinned the tail on this guy. My Wife attached it to her purse. She gets a lot of positive comments.

Just as a side note, a local wco can set some footholds that work 24/7 at removing those yotes for anyone that is in a no hunting zone :thumbsup2:

usrifle......if you dream about place you would never get sleep thinking about mine. Cabin on Forest Service land adjacent to and area of 356 that had two culverts was out so I have 30 some square miles of limited access either by foot or mountain bike or horse unless disabled then anything your butt can sit on only two ways in.....one way a hacked bipass route that crosses a deep creek crossing that is impassable until spring run off stops and the other is a private cabin tract trail that I only let three people use.

Hunting coyotes yourself is half the fun. The other half is showing off your success.

Yep, I'm looking forward to getting our field hayed in Machias soon. They usually prowl the field for a few hours in the AM.
