The Big 5 in Monroe has 21 boxes of Winchester 223 bulk packs of 150 rounds. But they are going for $125 a box, which is why they are still on the shelf. Their prices on other ammo has been normal when they have it in, but I also don’t stop in on their delivery day of Thursday. But just throwing this out there in case someone really wants a box to shoot right now.

I have always thought Big 5 ammo prices were high. I guess some things never change. :ROFLMAO:

I hate gougers- but I'm not sure the 83 cents per round- they may be paying new prices and that's how new stock is marked.

I got a box of 30 carbine from them for 31 otd- which is a fairly good price.

Different stuff is coming in stock different places on different contracts with different prices. I don't want to think big 5 would gouge-maybe they are, but 80 cents seems to be the new retail price

On gun-deals.com 69 cents buys the crap- lake city winchester is 89 cpr.

I think there could be different prices depending on where it is coming in from? The local shop here has everything priced pre-panic (when it is in stock) but they recently had a shipment of Wolf steel cased 223 and 7.62x39 at $350 and $650 per 1K on the same day I picked up the primers. I wasn't able to ask about it because the guy I know wasn't there that day. I don't know why they would jack up one item and not everything else but it could happen.

I have bought a few items when they actually had it in stock and all were at pre-panic prices, including powder, primers and ammo- I found 1K Large pistol magnum primers for $32.99, they showed up as some kind of sale price and 1K Large Rife Magnum primers on a different day for the same price

That’s actually not a horrible price these days. You’d be hard pressed to find similar ammo online for less than $1/rd + shipping and tax.

Has anyone checked out the ammo at the new coastal farm store in Monroe? (Where the old QFC used to be.)

I have stopped by every now and then just to check, but mostly their shelves have been empty. I stopped by today to pick up parts for a project around the house. They had a few boxes of 12 gauge, one box of 12 gauge turkey, and a few boxes of 28 gauge. One time the guy at the gun counter said they get ammo on Fridays, but put it out by the weekend.

A lot of gun owners haven't kept up with the current reality. Prices are high and likely to go higher with what we are facing at the Federal level. Simple supply and demand

The only thing I'd buy from Big 5, shooting wise, is their Mossberg/Maverick shotgun combos...but that is back when they were like $259 and those days are long gone.

They used to stock ruger 10/22 and american rimfire at reasonable prices. I got one there. Also cleaning supplies.
