Not really a deal but if you wanted to stockpile this would get you started.

That place of steel and stone. I pray that you will keep me safe, so I will not walk alone. Help me to do my duty, please watch me on my rounds.

A $15 off coupon popped up, almost made it affordable.

At the prices out there 0.50 a round is not bad.
Still 7K is a lot of cash

Just for funsies, I put one in my cart and went all the way through the checkout process until the page asked for a credit card. It says "free premium ground shipping", which is shocking considering this probably weighs 400+ lbs. There is sales tax due, though, so it's asking me for $7,728 (tax rate is 10.4% here in Edmonds). That works out to $0.552/rd. That may be a fair price in today's market in terms of cost per round, but if you're shelling out over $7K, you should get better savings than that. Especially because the cost of ammunition components hasn't actually gone up as much as the current ammo prices would indicate. But as OP said, if you are looking to stockpile a lot of rounds in a hurry, this is one way to do it.

This would be feasible as a group buy

Sort of. Would need members to arrange their own storage, as it's a loose bulk barrel, counted by weight. Get enough members, and you could make a group buy on a case or two of Pmags or D&H mags from PSA, too, and just load them into mags for transport. That's how I have about half of my 5.56 stored.

I would've be willing to facilitate it if it was this time last year, but I've got enough 5.56 that I don't need to spend $0.55/rd on a barrel's worth.
