Surevaliance, I want to give you a giant THANK YOU for sending that letter. I would guess that Auburn PD just put an automatic 30-day hold on it, to buy themselves some time. Hopefully your letter will open their eyes to the details of the law, and they won't do the same for the next buyer.

Hopefully.

Thanks for doing that!

I think that's a giant unknown right now. I've seen indications pointing in both directions.

The way some agencies work, the same people running the checks are the same people entering in the VIN for recovered vehicles and also the same people running CPL, and doing other data entry and public facing duties. Well now they don’t have public facing duties so they should have more time for their other duties.

And redacting reports (huge time sucker), filing warrants, trespass orders etc etc. Small departments have small offices that do all of the admin work with just a few people.

They got a big flood of transfers but otherwise yes, things are freeing up, at least for the wife.

Was at Rehv Arms today around 11am. There were a half a dozen people there. I asked how long KC Sheriff was taking and he said it's still 10 days for SA rifles.

The place is pretty picked over. Very few handguns. One wall that use to be rifles/shotguns was picked clean.

SAR's are ten days period (or ten days minimum, cant remember), handguns are ten day maximum.

I'm still waiting on a "proceed" from NICS on a Bolt Action rifle. Private transfer, on March 22nd. Called South Sound Guns today and they told me, if they haven't called me, it hasn't gone through and they'd call me when it was available for pick up.

You've been waiting five days to pick-up a bolt action rifle?
