I’m new to metallic cartridge reloading as well. My first mistake was to badly underestimate how long it would take to size and deprime 3000 45 acp cases. Fuck me

Fuck me "I told you so." Go progressive, baby. That's where my objective differs. I'm not really looking for quantity so much as I am looking for quality ammunition at this point. I think the single stage press will serve me well for this purpose. My objectives may change over time but I just want to get a grasp on the art of reloading before I tackle mass production. I may feel more comfortable with a progressive set up if I ever venture into production of my own stockpiles in the event that store bought supplies dry up like they did after SH.

Yeah, I get that Ron ... but you’re not the one sitting in front of 3000 pieces of .45 brass.

I think a progressive is good for case prep though, can run through the sizer/trim/deprime really quick then do the seating on a single stage. My plans for my 6.5 creedmoor anyways. What a great way to spend the rest of your life doing...... besides fishing it fits nicely when waiting on components to arrive after you realize that you ran out....

It is relaxing getting everything thing prepped. I have done a bunch of handgun ammo for my grandson to shoot. I have been prepping rifle cases for this spring. For now I am happy with my single stage press, when we start doing a lot more shooting I will.buy a progressive press.
