For those who reload or handload...

OK, everyone! I have a request...

There are plenty of reloaders and handloaders. Some of us have been doing this for quite a while, and others have just started. Most of us got our start in the same way--a single stage press, clamped to a table--kitchen, living room, dining room, something else like that. And...as long as we clean up, the wife/husband/significant other is good to go with it.

Some of us also clean our guns at the table--of course, as long as we clean up behind ourselves and don't make a mess.

So...here's the request.

If you load on a kitchen/dining room/living room table, please post. A picture of your temporary and/or mobile set up is a plus.

Thanks!

I might suggest lead-wipes for the table and kitchen surfaces after reloading there. (Y'alls IQ's are low enough already)

Best you move that out in the garage soon as possible.

My presses all have bases I made so I can clamp them in the bench vice.

The others sit in 5 gallon bucket.

I used to load at the table. Kept everything in a trunk that doubled as a coffee table. After I was done and everything put away I would clean the table with paper towels and simple green. Towels went in trash.

Thread moved to the reloading subforum, since we have a number of reloaders who don't spend much time in the general discussion section.

Carry on, folks.

I use a walk in closet for my gun room. It is a little over six feet deep. My bench is 28 inches deep and six feet long. I have two single stage Lock N Load presses and two powder measures.
One is set up for pistol and the other is set up for rifle.

It is relaxing making our bullets for our weekly shooting outings.

I see you use 3M brake cleaner, I do too! Great stuff and no chlorine. I buy it by the case on Amazon for like $44

Funny thing, about 4-5 years ago when getting my annual physical, I asked my Doc to include a Lead Test in the blood work they do for a physical.

Results came back ZERO. Both my Doc and I were surprised due to the fact I've been hand loading for over 40 years and shooting for almost 70 (one more year and it will be 70).

Unless you are a bullet caster or shoot a lot of .22 in your basement with no ventilation, lead "ingestion" isn't all that big a deal for the average shooter, hand loader.

As for doing weapon cleaning on a table or kitchen counter, I always clean the counter afterwards. Was well trained by my wife (RIP).

Of all the people I know who have tested high for lead in their blood, most were bullet casters and a couple worked in indoor gun ranges where they swept up without PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
