I did the math, but maybe the dimensions of the can are different from what I worked with or the dimensions I had were for the outside of the can, not the inside, but I can't see that making a difference of hundreds and hundreds of rounds. I deliberately calculated a right cylinder for the rounds instead of calculating exact volume since I figured that'd take care of both stacking and air space problems when calculating stuff like this. Apparently not, so I'm sticking with my story that it must be a different sized can... I worked the problem in both cubic inches and cubic centimeters and got correlating answers (no missing Mars for me).
