Well have annealed all my .308 and got tired of chasing the one hole groups and went out to 610 yards today and am happy with the results. Did better then my Creedmoor, not real happy about that seeing as this is my poor boy budget gun. Rem 700 spa tax aac that I bedded and reinforced forend of stock. Tried neck sizing z fee after annealing and crushed 3 cases so gave up. Probably over anestled but never neck sized before

Well done.

You will get "tuned in" on the annealing process.

Once you do, you will never look back.

Seems there is a fine line of too hot to quick and too low for to long. Haven't used tempalaq or whatever but my last batch of .223 got a shiny blue, then lowered the temp and it looked more like my fed American Eagle annealed stuff. On the .308 I can feel the bullet seating easier, so assuming the brass which was fired 5 times or so was getting work hardened? Still new but it's a blast finding a new black magic trick and seeing what can be done with cheap components

We tested our new baffle system at our 500 yard firing line today.
I took the 2020 Prairie Dog gun chambered in 223. I fired 8 rounds at 500 yards and my friends fired another 4 rounds.
The following target shows that this gun is dialed in.
The top 4 shots at the 12 o'clock position were my first 4 before a scope adjustment. My next 4 rounds were "X" rings and all nearly touching.
The 2 rounds low at 6 o'clock and the 2 rounds a little left at roughly at 11 o'clock were shot by my friends.
All I can say is WOW.
4 "X" rounds nearly touching at 500 yards.

Jesus.

Is that a 1" grid on the target?

And is that measuring the velocity at the target (500 yards)?

Not sure of the grid size on the digital readout.
The velocity shown is a relative representation of velocity based on acoustic microphones at the target plane.
Actual velocity would be closer to 1640 fps at 500 yards.

The "X" Ring on the 500 yard target is 5" in diameter.

I love this gun to say the least....

Thank you buddy.

Funny thing is that this wasn't a load that I have ever shot out of this gun.
It was developed for a different rifle.

The brass was ANNEALED of course....... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
