so you do not have to pay tax on these items either? Lets say I want to buy a mosin nagat. And in a year I want to add a tapco sporter stock to it. What would I have to do?

Can I sell these at a later time, what if I make a profit. Some places will sell a rifle like the SKS as a C&R, many add ons for them. Does this limit me to what I can and cannot do to them?

Since the gun is shipped straight to you, then you are responsible for paying your own "use tax" . . . exactly like you are for every online purchase you make from any online retailer, for any taxable goods.

The first step is watching out for me, because I'd be hunting you down and kicking your ass. jestera

As I said in my original post, questions of legality should be directed to the ATF. In my opinion, though, you can make any changes to the gun that you want . . . but once you make certain changes, the gun no longer has C&R status. This means that you cannot sell it as a C&R; you would need to sell it like any modern firearm. (I.e., if you sell it out of state then you would need to go through an 01 FFL.) When you sell the modified gun, though, then you would still want to "log it out" of your bound book.

My understanding is that you treat this exactly like buying and selling modern firearms without an FFL. It is legal to make a profit, but you cannot buy and sell with the intent to make a profit.

So you can buy a $100 Mosin today, and sell it for $120 in a couple of years when you get tired of it. But you cannot buy a that Mosin purely with the INTENT of reselling it.

Hit Quote, then copy/paste the quoted portion so you have multiple copies of it in your reply. Then edit each of them as required, and type in between!

It's a manual process.

Not true.. it is enabled. Click on "Reply" down below. Then, in the editor, scroll down so you can see the posts in this thread. Next to each one, you will see a QUOTE button on the right. Click it and it adds it to the reply with the post quoted. Scroll down again, find the other post you want to quote, and click quote on that one too.

Done.

HEY! You're right! I'm used to the link being next to the post in the original screen. Didn't see it-------->thought it wasn't enabled.

I'm wrong.

So I'm filling out these forms and at the end it asks for the Chief Law Enforcement Officer. My address reads city of ____ but I live in unincorporated King County. When I applied for my CPL, I had to go to the court house in downtown Seattle. So my question is, do I put down my city guy or my county guy, and which guy is it technically? The sheriff? The Chief of Police?
