Rainer Arms RM15 ambi lower question

This may seem like a stupid dumb question, but I've got a Rainer Arms RM mod 3 ambi lower and I was wondering what the long pin is for that they supply, it looks like it could be for the botl catch and bolt release but I am not sure any thoughts? Also can I use mil spec mag release and mil spec take down pins? I would presume yes but again I am not sure I have built lots of standard stripped lowers just never done a fancy ambi like this. Any info will help!! Thanks!!
