Thanks for the info guys. I have not broke mine down yet, but see it will be a bit different than the Glocks I am use to. The videos are going to be very helpful.

I admit I am a bit intimidated, but look forward to breaking it down here in the near future. I hope to find someone in the local area, that is able to install my night sites. I hear some folks have to send them off, and I would rather not have to go through that experience.

Great thread. Over the years I guess i've always just started pulling shit apart and figuring it out (piece by piece...remove, replace several times for each piece) as I go along. Lay everything out on a while sheet as it comes apart. I guess with the internet, I now have a better way Thanks

lot of good info from James (aka XDMan). I can't link to his youtube channel at the moment, but you should be able to find more of his vids: http://www.tacti-cool.com/detail-disassembly/

I hear some folks have to send them off, and I would rather not have to go through that experience. I sent my slide out for the sights, but if you have a sight pusher tool it shouldn't be too hard. The rest of pretty much anything on the XD/XDm is a piece of cake. Note the loaded chamber indicator can get really gummed up. Every second cleaning I pop the roll pin out and clean it really well.
