Hi all! Just got my form 1 approved and am in need of a drill press. Is there anyone in the Tacoma Seattle area that would be willing to let me use their drill press?
Would supply my own bits.
Drilling 4 Gr9 Ti Baffles, 3 Heat Treated Stainless Steel Baffles, and an end cap.
I’d of course, show you my tax stamp and ID.
Thanks!

I'm in Newcastle/Renton area. If you can't find somebody closer your welcome here. The garage is a dump but the drill press is square and runs well! Has a rudimentary X-Y table and vise.

So, when does that "Old enough to know better" shit kick in??? I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

Ooh - not too far from my place! Actually waiting on my drill bits that were supposed to have arrived yesterday.. Do you by chance know the drill press model? Also, do you have a dremel? Thanks so much!

It's a Delta I think, floor base, not sure of the model#. I have a Dremel. Just checked, Delta 17-965. Is that critical? Attachment: 20191120_152540.jpg

Just checked, Delta 17-965. Is that critical? Not particularly - I was just told to drill Ti with low RPMs and it looks like the delta goes down to 215 RPM so that’s great! Any time this week you’re available in the evenings? I get off work at 4:30PM from downtown Seattle.

Thanks! FYI - You will need to use a drill press that runs very slow - most cheap asian drill presses (Delta, Grizzly, Ryobi, Jet, etc) run way too fast and will burn up your drill bits as well as damage your baffles. For a 3/8" drill bit you'll want to run at a max of about 250-300 rpm, slower is fine. If that Delta really goes down to 215 rpm you'll be good to go, but most of the cheaper asian stuff runs at a minimum of 500-550 rpm in the lowest gear. If you're only doing a .22 can and using a 1/4" drill, you can probably get away with cobalt drill bits in a cheap asian drill press.
