I expect it to come back after the new Congress is seated, likely without the offer of free stamps.

Here's the letter that was sent by some of the House members:

Perhaps, but I'm not excited by the implication that the only valid use of a brace is to assist someone with a disability.

Well frankly I do agree, we should not even be looking at this attack on our freedoms. It's a singular angle - but reread - they quote the ATF garbage and say more.

scrid2000......if you were disabled like myself and others here you would be more read up on the ADA and the adaptive equipment regulations. Law enforcement can not ask what a persons disabilitry is the ATF sure as hell can not. This same adaptive equipment clause allows me to run vehicles in areas that are closed to vehicles yet open to foot, bicycle or riding and pack stock. I just can not go inro wilderness. I could even slap a brace on my ar pistol if I wanted. I was banging heads with the US Forest Service for years till the Department of Justice spelled this clause out in specific terms.

I understand that there are limitations on intrusion into exceptions for those who are disabled, and I'm not suggesting that accommodation shouldn't be those who are disabled; there absolutely should be. What I'm not excited about is the suggestion that assisting those with a disability should be the primary consideration in whether or not a brace is legal, because that's only one step away from a brace being considered a stock for someone who isn't disabled.

WTF. Shit, even if you try to be legal, it's really not even possible anymore.

Ammoland reports on a "leaked Congressional Research Services" study:

https://www.ammoland.com/2021/02/leaked ... d-20588801

It really illustrates how ATF policy has flip-flopped over the years.

They suggest that this study indicates that CONGRESS might take up the issue again soon.

Apparently the BATFE got their collective pee-pees slapped by the DOJ and has withdrawn the Dec. 2020 amended "guidance" on arm braces "pending further review by the DOJ".

With only 211,000 stabilizer comments, the DOJ needs 120 to process.
