Normandy Park for the win! Called and left a VM requesting an appointment on 8/6 per the website. Guy called, apologized for being out of the office. Said no appointment was needed, they just tell you that so you can make sure someone is there. Said he was there until 2 if we wanted to come in. Wife went down right away maybe 1030. No issues. I got there about 1145. No problems and the gal at the window asks if it was my wife earlier - if she’d known she would have just run one charge.

Anyway, got both cards in the mail today. Guessing I could have had them Tuesday if I’d asked for a call instead of requesting they be mailed out.

Hello, I am a new member and prospective Washington immigrant. This is my first post after lurking here for several days. A little background: I am a retired California prosecutor (Mendocino County District Attorney and California AG criminal law division) and have had a CCW for most of the last 40 years. I currently have a Nevada resident CCW.
I intend to get a non-resident Washington CCW prior to moving to the Olympia area.
It looks from the discussions like each issuing agency has its own process.
I read the statute as allowing a non-resident to apply to any Washington state law enforcement agency. I do not see any requirement to apply in person.
I am looking for recommendations for a CCW friendly issuing authority that does not require in person application.
Thank you in advance.

welcome to WaGuns!

One you still need to be fingerprinted.

Some agencies for renewal are an online process but you are a new applicant.

Yes, correct applying as non-resident - you can apply at any county, city or agency that will process your CPL application within Washington State.

It would help if you can narrow your possible future location by giving us a city or even county to work with.

So how long can they deny us a CPL? I got finger printed at Bellevue Fingerprinting Service on Aug 29. I paid a lot for that, but I still don't have my permit yet. I don't see how this is legal given the 30 day limit. I was born here, and I've never even gotten a speeding or parking ticket. I've been good the 42 years I've been alive.

Welcome to WaGuns Jen!! Ever since COVID, LEAs have used the pandemic for why they can’t fulfill in time.

Have you called your local LE and asked them what the hold up is? Maybe they approved it and it got lost in the mail?

There is a legal process for forcing the LEA to comply, ut as soon as you file it I guarantee your permit arrived quickly to squash it.

It's not. And nobody seems to care, which is absolute bullshit. :cussing:

I'm with Dan. Give your local PD a call and ask them. Let us know what they say!

Renewed my CPL with SnoCo online. Took 3-days from submit to approval and 1-week to receive in the mail.
