A steal on a local auction. 98% condition. I could flip this for twice what I paid but it was a bucket list revolver.
Very faint line on the cylinder but other than that it looks unfired.
Grips match. Never taken off as they showed a faint line from the factory.

I only wish I had the box.

I got lazy and used a phone camera with light box instead of my Nikon pro camera. Shoot me. :)

These local auctions are a steal here at Kalispell. If you're local. If out of state, they insisted on 24 hrs out of state delivery to FFL which is $$$

Nice flat latch.

Even if you're not into collecting them, it helps to know about old S&Ws, Colts, and Winchesters so you can jump on a deal. To the unaided eye, one old gun looks like another, but some variations are worth a ton of cash to the right collector.

Yep! and guys like you teach guys like me! I like the old stuff....

I added a T-grip to the revolver. Very nice upgrade to a small J Frame when you have large hands! This is my 3rd J-frame.

It shot true today at 21 feet at the Polson Range.

Very happy now that it's not a virgin anymore. I had a vintage S&W 22 62 W (OWB) holster sitting in the drawer from Ebay purchase in 2015 that I married this 1956 Pre-model

Chiefs special with, as a winter carry revolver on our 3 mile daily dog walk. No Griz on this side of the lake, just cougar and black bear. Skunks are the main concern when walking the dogs.

Very happy with this purchase. In 1956 this revolver cost $59.60 cents. In today's inflationary dollars, that's $614 dollars.
