I got two new friends today:

Image

The first is a J.P. Sauer & Sohn .357 single-action revolver, model Texas Marshal. The dark one is a Chinese Type 54 Tokarev, in 7.62x25.

The Type 54 is one of the "X Grade" from Aim Surplus: https://aimsurplus.com/x-grade-chinese- ... -62x25cal/

So yeah, it's been refinished. I'll tell ya what though, it looks pretty good. All of the numbers match, and the only pitting that I see is right on top of the slide:

Granted, these are shit pistols from the get-go, but I'm pretty happy with it for $200. thumbsup

That 6 shooter is "flashy" big guy. I expect you to OC that Hogleg in an appropriate rig at Safeway. I'll come with you for that trip.

The Tokarev looks like a deal!

Oh hell yeah it is. That’s why I bought it! I wanted the flash, and the caliber (.38 and .357).

This sucker is making its debut at Ladies Day this Saturday. I’ll shoot it to make sure it doesn’t blow up, and then I’ll let the ladies ring some steel with it. Unleash your inner cowgirl! thumbsup

I had a Sauer and Son wheeler like that at one time. Sadly I let a friend talk me out of it before I could really enjoy it. At least it's still in the family, so to speak. Very well made revolvers. The ladies are gonna love it Steve. I guess you're used to that! :inlove:

Sadly, my only J.P. Sauer & Sohn firearm is an Israeli Mauser.
