Rita came through again this year with a Bond Arms Rowdy in .410 bore / .45 Colt for my birthday. All the quality of a Bond Arms derringer at half the cost because it's bead blasted instead of polished. I found it online at http://www.GunStuff.tv who I can't recommend more. While their base price was about $10 more than the cheapest I could find, they don't charge anything for one day shipping, so I ended up saving about $30 overall, which paid the WA State tax. So, I ordered it on a Wednesday night and did the paperwork for it at Black Hammer Arms the next evening. Shreveport LA to Tacoma in one day, no charge for shipping, with constant emails telling me what was going on. I will admit to a tiny bit of disappointment, it won't chamber 3" .410 rounds, only 2.5". However all barrels that Bond makes fit all their Derringers, so I can probably buy a longer barrel that will chamber the longer rounds, or I can buy a barrel in a completely different caliber and just swap it in, kinda like a Thompson/Center Contender. Fortunately I had some 2.5" Winchester PDX in both .410 & .45 Colt, so I can at least test it out one of these days. I've now got three new pistols I've never fired. Maybe a trip to the woods is in order.

Let us know how it shoots, and if the recoil is painful. Nice job, Rita! Could well be, but the owner (Mr. Bond) says that he had his 11 year old 75# son shooting shooting one, and he thought the "recoil is mild". We'll see. They also say the bottom chamber's recoil is less than the upper due to the difference in the angle between the two bores. They say that competition shooters always make sure that the lower firing pin is hit first because it makes it easier to get back on target than the upper. I just think it's cool having a pocket pistol that pretty much disappears into your back pocket, yet packs a wallop. Plus I like out of the ordinary guns.

Tha'ts really cool!
Thought about getting one. 45-70/45-70 American Derringer slab side Alaska Survival model. Since I had a bunch of loaded 45-70 shells and 6-7 rifles for them.
Saw one for sale at a gun show, asked the guy how the recoil was.
He said "I don't know. I'm not man enough to shoot that thing!"
Pretty big guy too. I passed.
If he dropped the price $100, I would have bought it.

The .410 kicks way more than the .45lc. Like Madpick said, no 3” shells is probably a good thing.

The Lovely Rita treats hubby right! I don't recall ever actually shooting a Derringer, but with either 45LC or 2.5 inch .410 i'm not sure i would want too! 3 inch .410? Hell no.

Had the original without the slab sides. 45-70 cowboy action loads weren’t *that* terrible but full power loads were harsh. Sold on GB to a guy in Penn who was planning on EDC.

And Rita brought some spicy pickles!
That pistol really is sweet. I wouldn't mind tuning up the trigger on one, as I'm sure there is a way. Heck, I might not even would Cerakote it.
