I am throwing this out there to see who has the oldest 10/22 out there. While mine was not originally purchased by me (it pre dates me) it was purchased brand new by my dad and given to me when I was 10.

Serial # is 9XXX from 1965 and is still all original parts (I have plenty of others to toy with) and still functions relatively flawlessly after the likely hundred plus thousand rounds run through it.

Tell me what you have...

Does the 10/22 Grandfather qualify?

1962 Ruger 44 Mag Carbine. 3 years later the 10/22 was designed after the 44 mag carbine.
4 digit, just missed the "Deer Stalker"stamp by 4000.

The gun on the bottom I bought used in 1983. I was 13. It was made in 1978. The top gun. I purchased a while ago to give to my son. But he is in the Navy. And he really does not have much time to shoot guns. It was made in 1974.

Same here, Stainless, Walnut 239-XXXXX from 1994 (so a little older)

Have not shot it. Bought it a couple years ago, from a folding gun shop for a song.
