Hello, I am looking for a safe place to shoot outdoors where I can set up my own targets and practice drills that I am not allowed to do at my local indoor range. The best way to describe what I want to do is set up my own 3 gun course so to speak. GPS coordinates or well known landmarks would be helpful too.
Thanks in advance SeabeeVet

Your best bet is to look for DNR Land that may be somewhat close by. (Dept. of Natural Resources) it's legal to shoot safely on DNR Land in WA. I would imagine there are some places out towards Darrington.

I am in Arlington and can show you a few places out towards Darrington. What distance do you want to shoot?. I know a spot in oso but is is only maybe 25 yards or so.
PM is the best way to comunicate for me, i don't always get back to the original post.

Now that is sharing is caring in action.
But for “safe” now that’s a different problem.

Looking for the same thing! I live in Marysville and looking to get back into taking the wife and kids out plinking. I'm not looking for any real distance shooting, but somewhere I can sight in a scope and just throw some targets out and have a fun afternoon.
I've seen some post about the Darrington Pit. How far out of Arlington is it? I figure I'm going to have to drive a little to get what I want in a area to shot so thats not a problem.

I'd be interested in finding some. My son and his Marine buddies go out every Saturday on 20+ mile hikes. Told him he and his buddies can't bring a rifle with him until we clear the location with a park ranger, Sheriffs Department, or county map.

We will be going to the Darrington Pit next Saturday if you guys want to go up there. I like to leave Arlington around 8am and that puts you there around 8,30.

Thanks DR. My son and his Marine poolie buddies want to go. I'd go, but am still recovering from a broken foot. We'll see what the foot surgeon says tomorrow.
