I would like a new rule please. No more pictures of your own body parts unless your showing a sever injury. I stomached Dan's wrist surgery but I lost my dinner over Young's tan.... I can't even talk about it. It brings back the ralfs...

So damn it. During the shoot I lost 3 guns...
1) A grip screw out of my Sig P229 2) An e-clip out of my Sig 522 - rendering it non functional 3) Blew out my gas block on my cheap AR pistol upper
Called Sig and they are sending replacement screw for Sig P229 and e-clip components for the Sig 522 (free).
Now I just have to figure out what to do with that AR pistol upper?

Been there, done that with the Sig 522 e-clip. As for the AR upper . . . just fix it.

The upper is a cheap Olympic Arms knock off (well I'm assuming from same line but under a different company name).
Total cost was $325 (AR pistol upper) with BCG and charging handle.
Yes, I could just replace the gas block and tube (<$50-60) but I'm thinking...
As for the details. If you look at your gas block... imagine a new hole on top. I've had problems with this gas block on staying true on the gas port (slippage due to locking nuts not locking onto the barrel - screws not long enough). I'm thinking that the gas port either became clogged or it miss aligned and created too much pressures in the gas block. Added to lots of shooting (fast) it overheated as well and eventually it popped a hole on top. Mal functions were weak gas pressures so it would cycle enough to maybe cycle but not consistently and eventually the hole became large enough that it wasn't cycling at all. I haven't fully taken it down yet to see what the gas port looks like on the barrel. At this point I'm done with this AR upper. It's time to move on.
Anyone need a cheap AR pistol upper project? Need to replace gas block and maybe gas tube on a 7.5" barrel.
