I have questions about the two shooting place marked on the map. ("greenwater" and "FS 70 Clearcut")
1. What are the shooting hours, if there are any restrictions.
2. How crowed they are for weekends and weekdays? Does it vary by seasons?
3. Do you need special permit (National forest permit, etc) to shoot there?
4. Do you need 4WD/AWD and high profile vehicle to reach there?

Thanks a lot.

My understanding is that you can shoot 1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset, as per DNR rules.
I've been there during the weekdays and cold weekends and it was desolate. Everyone has told me that it is a madhouse during summer weekends.
You may need a forest pass to park there--can anyone confirm?
I've taken my low-slung sedan and been fine during the dry season. However, the parking lot can be super nasty during the wet season.

A regular vehicle will be fine. You do not need any kind of access or parking pass.

You cannot shoot exploding targets (e.g., Tannerite) or anything incendiary, including stuff like propane tanks.

And please, please, please:

- Keep all shots on the berm, don't launch any skyward.
- Pick up all your trash, including any target material.
- If you bring out more trash than you brought in, or if you encourage other people to bring out trash, you get bonus points.
- Be safe. Follow the same rules you'd follow at your local range. Don't muzzle sweep other people, call the range hot and cold when changing targets, etc.

Get there early on weekends if you don't like crowds.
