Post subject:  Eastern WA open shooting area?

I’m sort of an eastern Washington fan and enjoy traveling to that side a few times a year. Would anyone know of a short range shooting area where someone can do some plinking (pistol/small caliber rifle)? Like to find an area east or north East of Cle Elum, between Wenatchee and Yakima/Naches area. Thanks.

Link at the top of this page, "Maps / Shooting Areas" -> LT Murray 1 just north of Yakima / selah. (mislabeled though, it's wenas wildlife area not lt murray).

Lt murray is a shit show, keep your head on a swivel. I think hours are now restricted for fire danger. Check on regs before heading out.

Took a trip towards Blewett pass last weekend to check out the area. Ended up on the old Blewett pass highway. That’s a trip to drive. Barley wide enough for two vehicles, constant switchbacks and not a guard rail anywhere. Some places you can’t get over 5mph. Glad I didn’t run into any another vehicles. Turning around would be almost impossible. And to think folks use to drive that death trap in winter. Can’t imagine that with ice/snow.

There are several NF roads northwest of highway 97 that are thousands of feet from the freeway and any other road. Nobody living nearby and no camping grounds for miles. I’ll have to find out who’s in charge in that area and the rules/laws for recreational shooting. Pretty area and no trash.

Lots of hiking areas west of 97, have to be careful out there.
