Hello,

I am looking for a place for me and my grandfather to shoot. We have been shooting for a while at an outdoor range but I think he would do better at a more private area. I am looking for the kinda place where you have dirt on each of your sides and usually steel targets already set up. These are the ones where you can walk down whenever you want. Usually there are benches there and tables to put your guns down on. I have seen these types of places in videos on the internet but never found out what they are. My grandfather is now older and I think this would be fun for us with the little time we see each other each year.

Thanks for your help, whatever you can give.

-Jack

Also we are located in Vancouver, about 15 minutes north of Portland.

Welcome to WaGuns, Jack! :wavey:

Why does your profile say that you're in New Jersey?

Here is a link to the shooting areas. You probably not find to many with benches. Good luck.

How well can your grandfather walk? If he can walk a bit you should be able to find a place on Forest Service land up on the Lewis River. In this case Google Earth is the way to go just know that you have to be 150 yards from a road other seasonally occupied place with a decent backstop to be able to shoot. I found such a place by accident a few years ago when I was chasing some gal from Vancouver and I was looking for a camping spot. This place was just barely on Forest Service land along a creek along a gated road. Beyond the gate I found a place where a bunch of four foot culverts had been stored and forgotten thirty years ago.....perfect place to do some shooting.

Thanks. He can walk pretty well so this may work. I'll take a look. Thanks
