Hey all,
I was just reading that my favorite place to shoot, that pit off tinkham road has been closed. Does anybody know of a place near there with a good enough back stop to go shooting? Why would they make that area into a bike trail :blackcloud1:

Don't know if this helps, but I do know a place that you might like. I'm afraid to reveal its location to the world though.

DNR claimed it was partially due to not having enough funds to keep the roads maintained, which is why they've closed/gated a lot of that area. In this case they decided to convert the road to trail use after gating it, which for some reason meant shooting was now a danger to trail users - even though it was never an issue to the traffic up there before hand. The people managing that land and those roads are idiots, even local law enforcement has no issues with shooting in the pit...

Wow. Leave it to the DNR to find the most circuitous route of turning a place I used to go all the time into someplace I will probably never return to. I shot there probably 20 times last summer and only once did I ever see a person on a bike, and it wasn't at all like we were shooting over their head. It must be the anti-gun bike agenda trying to take over all of the public lands ;)
