Heads up.

I found this website useful while trying to plan our 3rd annual Father's day Shootout. We hit up green water the last two years... lately it seems too busy and too many rejects not paying attention.

A few times in the past, I had been to LT Murray which is in Selah, the Wenas area.

Now, from about May to September, it closes by 1000. Due to Fire Hazard. When we got out there last weekend it was raining... a lot. Since it took 3 hours for our 3 vehicles to get there, we took our chances.
Of course, played it safe. Cleaned up after ourselves. Had our Discover Passes.

What else you should know.
-Pay close attention to the "green dot roads map" that's posted off Sheep Company Road. My buddy got fined $150 for driving up a non green dot road to set up some 600 yard targets. But, got the fine while cleaning up since he was seen out there while we were cleaning and packing up. The Fish and Wildlife guy, Cody W., said not to use any steel, or anything that has potential to spark up. Like I said, it was very wet out.
-We could have been worse off where all 5 of us could have been fined $150 each for shooting after 1000. Since we were cleaning up and not firing, he didn't hear or see us in action.

It's a great long distance location long as you can be done shooting after 1000.

Seems like the Discovery Pass is only good for Discovering that you can't explore much of the roads these days.

Thanks for reading. May be a good idea to update the map with the 1000 close time.

Thanks for this website and forum.

Very Respectfully,
Klaus

Sheep Company Rd. and L. T. Murray bring back fond memories.
I've put 1000's of rounds down range there, when I lived in Yakima.
