Thank you! And heck no, that doesn't make "zero difference," it makes ALL the difference. The future of theee shooting areas doesn't lie in the hands of volunteers cleaning up periodically; it lies in the hands of EVERYONE keeping the areas clean as they use them. Just as we've trained society (generally) not to throw McDonalds trash and empty soda cans out the car window, we need to train society to stop leaving garbage out in the woods.
So when you pick up a little trash, you accomplish a few things:
1) Well, obviously, you cleaned up a little.
2) You set an example to anyone else who is there. Peer pressure works. They will think twice before leaving garbage after just watching you work to clean up, and maybe they'll even get some extra themselves.
3) When an area is trashy, people will leave more trash. If an area is clean, people are more likely to leave it clean. So by cleaning it up a little, you may have prevented the next guy from leaving his garbage.
