Hello all, I stumbled across this thread while searching "triangle pit" to show a coworker. Subsequently I registered just to comment here.

I have been shooting there for about 10 years I guess. I never leave anything behind and usually have a bucket and a trash bag or two I fill up on my way out. Had I also known in advance about the clean-up I would have loved to have been there.

Many thanks to all that helped and have helped in the past. I will make an effort to follow up and attend the next clean up. My kids are almost of age to start shooting and look forward to many trips down in the future with them as well.

Thanks again all for the very hard and often thankless work and I hope to meet you out there soon.

-Josh

Ricker here. I am a newby, but would like to get in on the next triangle pit cleanup. I have only shot there once, but god it was a mess.

It should be a lot better now. You can always go to Evergreen Sportsman's Club as an alternative. Keep checking the event catagory, or this thread, and you should hear about the next event. We usually do at least two cleanups a year at the pit.

New to WAGUNS.ORG... also found this site due to a visit to the triangle pit this past weekend and the sign that is posted.
Was disappointed to see the debris left behind by "4th of July" celebration... plus loads of shooting related trash...
I picked up a few bits but did not have trash bags with me... plan to pick up some each time I am out...
Any idea about when the next clean up is would be greatly appreciated...

Cheers

Its good to see more people interested in the clean up and this thread. I have been down at the forest doing some shooting at the quarry a couple times since the clean up. The triangle pit is looking a little trashy again as expected unfortunately. The quarry looks nice, as well as the spot my wife and I cleaned. Another clean up at the triangle pit before the end of summer would be a great idea. I am thinking maybe mid or end of September? I planned on giving Barry from DNR a call this weekend to see how things are going. Happy Shooting everyone. :flag: :flag: :alcapone:

Our sign was taken down I was able to tape it back up at Walden creek. Been pickup trash a putting it up in area easy to get at every time I go out 2 times a week. If I can get out there this week I will staple it back up.

MADrtcw, sounds like a plan. The floor sweeper is kick ass. I saw the sign on the ground with duct tape a few weeks ago. I stapled it back up and put a generous amount of staples in this time. Hopefully it is still there. Happy shooting everyone. :snipersmilie:
