First timer there today at the group shoot. Is what we experienced today business as usual or did the rules get relaxed? In other words able to use steel targets, clay pigeons, rapid fire on a normal day?

Yeah . . . that's pretty damned nice, isn't it?
My understanding is that we followed the normal rules today. Hopefully Dan or Chris or one of the ESC guys (like Mark who can't remember his username, lol) can confirm that.

Yup, what happened today was par for the range. We are pretty open there. Allow tannerite, rapid fire, holster draw etc. But, the RSO on duty has the ability to restrict certain things based on who is there, his/her personal opinion of you and your skill set etc.
And, as far as bump fire goes.. Fully allowed, but if you demonstrate that you can't keep the rounds on the berm, we will send you packing pretty quickly.

The long and awesome answer is, "Use the 'view unread posts' view." If you're using the full version of the site, it's in the upper right corner. This shows you EVERYTHING that you haven't read yet, so you don't need to look through the whole forum section by section. If you do it right now, and you haven't read our threads about the group shoot we just did last Friday, you'll see those threads, pics, etc.

If you want to bump fire, I will be leery if I don't know you. You will have to prove that you can keep the rounds in the lower half of the berm. Same for holster work, show me. Once you have proven to me that you've got the skills needed, we're good. It's a case by case basis. We do our best to accommodate everyone.

Thanks. I wouldn't be looking to bumpfire necessarily, just saw it being done. More into steel targets, putting up some of the clay pigeon type targets and doing some control rapid shots.

Placing clay pigeons on the berm is fun as hell, especially when shooting .22lr. We love double taps too. :)

Yeah I enjoyed picking them off on Friday :)
On a normal day do you have to check in up front or just go back to the range and pay the RSO?
