I moved to Seattle from Eugene, OR a few months back, and while I really enjoy living in a much larger city, I do miss the quick access to BLM land on which to shoot. It was great waking up Saturday morning and just deciding to go shooting, knowing there was a safe, secluded area just 45 min away. My question is this; does anyone know of "easily" (4x4 not required) accessible BLM spots near (West) Seattle? If you do, do you happen to have GPS coords? I'm accepting the fact that it's going to take some driving to get anywhere to shoot outdoors in a non-range setting, I just don't know where to go, and my AR has been very lonely in her safe. Thanks! |

Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Not within 45 minutes. If you expand out to 2 - 3 hours then try Waddell Creek (down pass Olympia). viewtopic.php?f=54&t=32 You can also try JBLM (it's a range)... viewtopic.php?f=43&t=382 Life is full of compromises, otherwise we all would be living different lives... |

I know you're looking for open public land to shoot, but there is the SPAA range in the Tukwila area. Probably 15 minutes tops from West Seattle. I go up out of greenwater on forest service road 70 there are two pits to shoot at. |
