Just a little up to date info on TSC since things have changed there. Public Rifle Range: Boots/Waterproof shoes are highly suggested Now has a steel silhouette at 225ish yards Has a Shotgun/Pistol lane with a board for shotgun targets and a steel plate at 50 yds. ***Shotgun can only shoot skeet/target/bird shot, slugs can be fired at regular rifle lane Will be doing 600 yard shooting every other Sunday. Today was the first day, next day will be "competition." It will alternate between "fun" shoot and "competition" They have added a concrete pad to add 2 more lanes ***lanes are not yet set up Pistol range has been the same since I've started shooting here Member Range: lamrith wrote: Member pistol range is still in Limbo pending permits I think from the county, plans etc are all done and ready to start work.. They had made a few members rifle lane into pistol in the past, but it was abused and taken back out. I have not shot here recently but they had started adding pistol lanes with what seemed to have no timeline of completion.

Great to meet you today Boostless!! How did you do @600? It was pretty wild hearing the crack as the rounds went by followed by the BOOM from the firing location. Someone was hitting the plate every once in a while. 13"x16" plate @ 600yrds Cool to hear it will be a regular thing, though it does suck that they lose all use of the public rifle range when they run the 600yrd, but it is the only place to do it in the area. Member pistol range is still in Limbo pending permits I think from the county, plans etc are all done and ready to start work.. They had made a few members rifle lane into pistol in the past, but it was abused and taken back out. Public pistol was not overloaded this am, up until about 11:30 there was an open lane.

There was a .50 BMG rifle there this morning although he only shot about 10 rounds. A few other rifles out there but there where about 15 shooters which wasn't bad. Everyone alternated to allow everyone to shoot.

Wow, that sounds like some fun stuff . . . I like what I'm hearing!
I'll have to check TSC out sometime; I've never been there.

How many shooting stations did they have running?

I was dialing in 4 mils from a 100 yd zero and was right on, had to adjust throughout the day with the rain, cooler weather, and eventually sunshine. There were 5 stations but there is room for 8 if they clear the brush and over grown tree limbs. I need to get some better powder, I'm shooting WC846 pull down powder right now.
I have an EGW 20 MOA base with a Bushnell Elite 3200 scope so I should have more to play with when I get a load developed for my heavier bullets

The 200 YD line was opened back up when I was there yesterday. There will be a 600 YD shoot on the 28th of July for those interested.
This is out of the news letter they send out.
Sunday, July 28th, Tactical Pistol Shoot on the Rifle Range from 9-1, following the Tactical Shoot the 600 yard Range Shoot will be open for shooting.

I was just looking at the over head map on Google maps and i was trying to figure out how you could shoot 600 yards there. i do see a clearing behind the normal shooting line that goes back about 400 yards. does the firing line get moved back 400 yards?

That clearing is the new firing line, they close the benches and covering and move back 400 yards. You shoot over the benches/cover "Sent Via Time Traveling Blue Police Box"

they don't have any rules posted on there site for shooting 600 yards. Are there any rules? do you have to be part of a long range club or High Power Club?

Just show up, it's like using the normal range. There will be people there to help if you are unclear about shooting that far. The 200 yd berm on the regular range is the only berm visible at the 600yd spot. Just make sure you have a caliber/loading that will go that far, I shoot me rem 700 223 out there

I would love to shoot that far but at the moment i am unclear if my scope has enough adjustment. I also haven't put my current load through a chronograph to see if it would reach 600yrd. I'm gonna have to asap and try to make it on the 28th.

I'll make a thread in the general firearm forum for the shoot so we don't clog up this thread too much
