Hey!
I just bought my first AR-15 and semi-auto shotgun and don't really want to go to an indoor range. I was hoping to get some recommendations for places to test them out. Maybe some resources? Seems like most of it is word of mouth. I'd be willing to drive at most 1.5 hours preferably north.

I saw coordinates for the sultan basin which is about 49 minutes from me

I saw mentions of cherry valley road which is about 35 minutes, anybody have a pin for that?

Thanks in advanced

I don't pay to play, two of the semi local gun shooting ranges gave free shooting passes out when you buy a gun. I gave atleast fifteen of them away.
I go to the Darrington pits.. they are free,, no bullet holes in the ceiling or walls,, do what we want - when we want and feel good about a nice day outdoors.

I keep going back and forth between this point of view "do what I want" and then regretting when looking at the sketchy gun handling of some public range/pits goers. Alternatively some people go deep into some state/fed forest to shoot on their own but still they keep gun ready in case of "unwanted visit". Way to go for those with combat training. I shoot from a table. I don't know what to do when the target shoots back.

When garbage shows up you need the mindset that garbage is trash and easily disposable. Shoot first and shoot straight.
Always have your loaded handgun on you and never leave a loaded gun on your table when swapping out targets.
