Just wondering if there are any peculiarities that aren't covered by their site. My new neighbor said he's been a member off and on and there is no waiting list, but we didn't get into details. He does own guns, and doesn't seem like a Fudd, PLUS one other neighbor maybe .25 miles away was plinking, so there is that. Unfortunately my property just doesn't have a safe stop. Anyway - just curious, any insight welcome. Thanks

I called last week and chatted with a guy for a few minutes, going over a few things. I liked what he had to say and will probably take a drive up this week (from Bellingham), If I have time. More than likely, join. I went a checked out Planation on Saturday, I wasn't too impressed with the indoor pistol set up. Total metal Jacket or Hollow Points. Didn't shoot, not paying their prices for ammo and what I brought, I couldn't shoot. Outdoor pistol range was closed. I didn't check out the rifle range, just brought pistols. Looks like KeystoneCowboy is a member and could probably answer your questions. If not, is there anything that you would like me to ask them? -Jason-

I don't have a particular question or two in mind. Just general beyond the website. It looks very inviting, and no waiting list. Doesn't look like extra fees except the little extra for backyard access. What is back there? Are there enough bays on the weekends? (not a real worry for me) Warning! I qualify for the senior discount!!

Ok well... Join! I love it. Worth my drive and the price from Burlington. No rapid fire. About 1 shot a sec, double taps ARE welcome. Depending on who is there, the speed is not big deal. Essentially just no mag dumps. A few steel plates are out on the range now. The back range is supposed to be where its at. Shoot on the move type stuff. BPS, BPD, LPD, FPD, WCS etc all do their training on that back range. So you will hear FA. Not 100% sure exact requirements, but was told to shoot one of their leagues, and after about 10 comps they will sign you off to safely shoot back there. Pretty alway have the place to yourself or maybe a couple other people. Can shoot dawn to dusk 365.

I moved to Lynden a few years ago and joined. Kyle hits most of the points I would, except my briefing when joining was that shooting opens at 9AM, till dusk. Can’t say that crimped my style, I’m retired and 15 min away, so I go mid day weekdays when it’s usually really uncrowded.
Since it’s all yearly members, they don’t stock much at the clubhouse , it’s BYO targets, and a staple gun.
They do have a guest option, I’d be glad to sponsor a visit if you wanted to check it out.

Couple bays you can even move the benches down range to shoot from if its not crowded. Few types of targets available. If you forget earpro, stapler, spotting scope etc, they have all that and are happy to loan them out.

Yes, wooden stands with sacrificial plywood for target backing. We are encouraged to avoid hitting the permanent uprights.. Pistol is outdoor, but well covered so rain is not a big issue. Most of the long range bays are also covered at the shooting stations. Haven’t tried the new ‘ gongs’ yet, looking forward to that.
I shoot at Custer once a month or so, but several times a week at the shotgun clubs in the area,, if you are into clay targets.

Thanks!! You guys ROCK. We already feel great about being back in Whatcom county, even though Bellingham is going nuts.

Sounds good. We will have to set something up. Calendar years, in my mid 50's, body about 80, mind floats anywhere between 14-90. Only been into guns/shooting for 7 years or so. I have a few (dozen) guns now and always looking for more. I am trying to make it to Custer tomorrow morning, if I get all my ducks inna row today. Just going to bring a couple pistols to get a feel for the place. -Jason-

Custer would be a kickass place for a shoot, just saying.
