New to the area, and many of the ranges I'm seeing are "clubs." Frankly I'm a semi infrequent shooter, and I can't justify $50 a month for membership that I might use 6-8 times per year.

Many thanks,

what kind of shooting will you be doing?
i live in the shoreline area and i go to Norpoint(arlington) for anything less than 25yards....pistol and carbines. Because they allow rapid fires. range officers there are mostly fine but once in a while you'll get a range nazi that'll give you hell

for anything 25y to 100y... mainly ar15 and 308ar, i got issaquah sportsman range. 1fire/sec, 10rnd per mag limit. Range officers are very friendly

The range at Kenmore (25 yard slow fire only) is $135 or so per year ($200 initiation fee). Free range fees for the year and if you attend a Range Committee meeting and apply for "Special Use" you can use the range daily from 9:01AM to dusk. Even get a key to the gate so you can shoot before public hours. Membership and "Special Use" gives one the ability to use the Pistol range and rifle ranges from 100-300 yards. I shoot most of the time at Kenmore and I figure that the way I use the range an average "Daily Range Fee for me is about $2.75/trip. The membership fee all depends on the amount of use you get.
For me, it's nice to be able to go and shoot first thing in the Morning when the wind is calm.
For an indoor range with all the target retrieval goodies, there's a range in the Canyon Park area, I-405 and Hwy 527 (Bothell-Everett Hwy) Most of the "Membership Ranges" have "daily memberships" available so you can use the facilities. Daily users can often be limited to the manner in which they can shoot, ie no draw/shoot.

You can go north to the Norpoint range at NE 172 and Hwy 9. Depending on the day, you may have a long wait. Even those with "memberships" have to wait as they take everyone "first come, first serve, and not all of their bays are working at the same time. Coming soon will be the range at the old "Sam's" just west of Hwy 99 on Airport road. When that opens it will most likely be the closest to you. In the past it was a "walk in" range although they also sold memberships.
