Newbie here. Just picked up my first pistol the other day and was wondering which indoor gun range people like to go to? I’m mainly looking for a range that won’t charge you an arm and a leg for purchasing their range ammo. Went to Champions a couple of days ago, any they wanted ~$40 for a pack of 50 9mm.

Do all indoor ranges charge that now?

Stay away from Champion. IMO, Rose is a totat stranger to shooting sports and should not run such business.
Call Federal Way Discount Guns to see what their range ammo prices are.

Well, prices are absolutely outrageous right now, and there is a huge ammo shortage. As you can see here on WaGuns, folks are selling 9mm for 40-45 cents/round, and it's usually selling quickly. While I'm sure that Champion is making money at 80cpr, they're probably also paying more for it than they normally would.

I'd buy your ammo here, and then go to your indoor range of choice to shoot it.

I purchased my gun from them. Their prices are much more reasonable. 18$ for $50 rounds. Yea I don’t expect pre-covid prices but I figured ranges wouldn’t rip us off as much as Champion does. Just bought my first gun so just trying to stock up on ammo.

Reloading is the only answer if you want to target practice regularly.
There are plenty of experts here who can introduce you to that Universe.

I would also suggest to buy your ammo prior to visiting the range if you are shooting with your own personal firearm. The drawback to starting to reload at this time is the shortage of primers, the most in demand sizes have been sold-out at retail stores for months.

Whatever you do start saving all your brass, right now.

Either you'll start reloading at some point, or you can sell it to others who do.
