Isn't this state land? I thought it would be closed.

We went up there Saturday at 4pm and stayed there until 9pm. There was no (NO SHOOTING) signs up. So Mason hot to shoot the 10" Ruger Mark 2 and the 20 gaige double barrel. There was ten gallong of shotgun hulls in the lower pit that I picked up. There wasn't that many shotgun hulls in the upper pit. I had them cleaned up the previous weekend. Next trip I will work on the steel rifle & pistol cases.

Missed you guys. I went to Lynwood and hung out there for the rest of the day.
With no sign, it's less prohibited I guess. Don't know who owns that land.

We made our first 2021 trip up to the 435th Ave pit today. I took my grandson as ussual and meet two friends up there. We left the house a little after 8am and got home just before 5pm.
We set up in the lower pit and two friends came up for most of the dsy. They closed off the 435th Ave access so we had to take the long way in fron the Shell Staion. Cars forget about it, trucks only.
We picked our brass up and it came up to fifteen pounds. We also picked up.most ofvthe shotgun hulls in the lower pit. About seven gallons of them.
There were trees down all over the place and were cut up off of the road. A lot of good firewood if you have the time to go cut it up.

The weather has been gettingva little better and Mason has been itching to get back up in the mountains. I had to work seven days a week for the last month. Today I got done at 2pm, went home, unloaded my Ranger, loaded up his brand new 200CC mini bike and headed to the 435th pit. We left Arlington at 4:30 and got home just before 9pm. Mason got to get comfotable on his new minibike while I got a fire going and picked up spent shotgun hulls. The nice thing about the ammo shortage is no one was at the pit shooting and there was only two buckets of shotgun hulls in the lower pit. I went to the upper pit and only picked up.one bucket before it started to get dark on us. Mason had a great time riding his brand new minibike, taling a break to shoot some 22 long rifle ammo, ride some more, get warm by the fire n drink some coke and repeat.
I did pick up three buckets of shotgun hulls. It was more dark then light when we got out of the woods.

Nice Pictures and job well done with the clean up! Question though. With shooters in different places with ammo today, shortage or keeping it closed up in the safe...does clean up grant you enough time for range lead mining? Not sure if that's your thing. Not mine yet that is but I thought I'd ask if its frowned upon, and this isn't on a big scale. Just a shovel and a sifter if it were.

I never reclaimed projectiles to recycle. I,m sure it wouldn't matter as long as no one is shooting at the pit. I would rather just buy lead from someone on the forum for a couple bucks a pound. I spend s lot of time at the pit and never seen snyone sifting the msterisl for projectiles.

Now we have good weather we will be getting out more often. Now he has a mini bike he will probably split the day up between riding and shooting. It's all fun for him and I love spending these days up in the mountains with him. He is getting big and is doing better with the larger rifles. Our friend Ed from Northwest Firearms gave Mason Ar15 and he loves it. The last time we got together to shoot Ed brought his electric (12 volt car battery) clay pigeon thrower. Mason was slamming the clay pigeons with Ed's Stoeger 20 gauge semi auto. I have been looking for one and haven't seen any for sale. I will buy one when things loosen up after Bijng Bidens occupation.

I have a little time off work and have been doing a few things around the house. Mason wanted to go ride his mini-bike today so I took the cap off of the ranger pick up at 5;30, loaded his mini-bike up and went back up to the pit in Darrington. He rode his mini-bile while I picked up steel rifle & pistol cases. We packed it up at 8;30 to head home. The rain started to come on down. I picked up about dix gallons of steel cases, wire & nails.
People do fires up there and burn skids. There is a lot of nails up there in the pit. We didn't take any guns today, not much time to spend up there before dark. It was a great time, he got to ride and I got to do some clean up. I love my time with my grandson, while I have my health I will keep taking him out in the mountains and let him enjoy the outdoors. I need to get my 12 foot boat ready to take him out fishing.
It was really dark by the time we got out of the woods and back out on 530.
