I'd like to introduce you to our latest Board member and Secretary of Trash No Land.

Please give a warm welcome to Tracy Yon! Welcome to the team, Tracy!

Tracy has that magnetic personality that you just love to get to know. She is a die-hard volunteer with Trash No Land and to our great outdoors. She loves to go shooting but ends up spending most of her time cleaning up other peoples shooting trash. Thank you Tracy!

Funny . . . I actually read that as her title is "Secretary of Trash." I was thinking, "that's weird...". :ROFLMAO:

Welcome, Tracy! Thanks for being a part of a very worthwhile cause!

Washington State Dept of Natural Resources has cancelled the Pick Up The Burn event in the Yacolt Burn State Forest that was scheduled for April 25th. (That's the big one where all the Rec groups join up to clean the whole forest in one day). Might do it later in the year.

Mt Hood Nat Forest main and field offices are closed to walk in traffic but staff is still there handling phone calls and doing in-house business.

Trash No Land is not scheduling any cleanups till this blows over. (Instead, we'll be busy with shooting lane improvements in the Santiam State Forest, NF Wolf Creek Rd Lanes 1 & 4, planning for a lane improvement in the Gilchrist State Forest and meeting with WA DNR about doing lane improvements).

The good new is the FOREST IS STILL OPEN!!! Probably one of the very few places you can go to find some relief from the mayhem and be in a virus free environment.

So when you go out to do some shooting, perhaps you could bag up a few bags of trash. Or maybe just go out to do some trash hunting. Take the fam and make it a day of doing some good. Post up some pics and what forest you went to, and I'll let the forest agency know you were there. They need to know we are still out there doing something because we value recreational target shooting. It's how we keep it open.

More to come, about committing 'Random Acts of Cleanups' soon. Perhaps we can make a difference, even without group events!

Peace, Love and Gunpowder,

Bill.

Without group cleanups this spring/summer, you can still make a difference. Show your support for the shooting sports and your respect for our great outdoors by committing Random Acts of Cleanups! Send us your pics and details of your efforts so we can share how the recreational target shooting community is caring for our public lands. We will also forward your good deed to your local forest agency so they know that shooters care. Email to bill@trashnoland.org

Have fun, be safe and Trash No Land!

Awesome initiative!

In the 90's, environmentalists and lawyers wanted to stop rock climbing. We used the same tactics as you guys and secured 'access' to different sites, parking rights, permission to do typical climbing things.

For those of you on Facebook, I've started a Private Facebook group called: "Target Shooting on Public Lands, Group Chat". A place where shooters, from all over the NW, can post and comment about their neck of the woods and what's going on there. I think it will give us a good perspective of public land target shooting throughout Oregon and Washington. It will be a good place to coordinate group and individual efforts to do some good in various forests.

It's not to take away from WaGuns because not all people use FB and my little group will never come close to what we have here. But it's a closed group where we can chat openly about concerns, good times, places to shoot, events we should do and pro-active actions we could take as a non-profit organization group.

If you have a FB account and would like to join, I'd love to have you there. We really need to diligently work to save our places to shoot and work to get shooting improvements done all over OR & WA.

There's a small handful of us on there right now, because it's new and haven't promoted it much yet. As it grows, it will get better and better. I'm also sending invitations to all our Trash No Land members. We should start growing this chat group soon.

Here's the page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/339512627042025/

Thanks,
Bill
