Seen a lot of no shooting signs lower down. Didn’t go past the snow park lot at the end of FS70, where it turns to gravel. Also seen a bunch of trash from people and their camps. Looking at them, I can see no difference between some of these camps and SoDo bum encampments. Wonder if we could get the forest service to take photos of license plates and then go back to check and see if the camp spots were cleaned up and trash taken away? |

Sometimes I wonder if people just leave junk at a site as a method of reserving it. They can pick the best sites in the middle of the week and dump their junk and on the weekends they actually go camping. |

I try to remember to take a magnetic "Floor Sweeper" from Harbor Freight to get the steel cases, which are the most difficult to pick up. I brought back an untouched microwave from the firing line last week in Elbe Hills. Guy was upset and brought it back to his car. After I left, he brought it back and shot it up with his shotgun and left his mess. Yeah, we got to pick up other's people's messes. And carry their weight in the voting booth. But I'd prefer not to go thru 70 years of communist dictatorship to learn our lesson. Bring extra bags, bring a trash can, talk to other people nicely. Otherwise, the DNR or Forest Service can/will close it to shooting. |
