I've never gone this route before and have some questions.
(16" barrel is going to be used)

Standard spring & buffer from an AR15 carbine?
or
Do I need a heavier buffer and or spring?

Also, if you are having feeding issues, take some fine sand paper to extend the feed ramps and polish them. I have both the acs mags and the C company mags.

I’m also interested in doing a 7.62x39 AR.
So,to be fully clear, if I started with a basic M4 clone, I would need only a 7.62 barrell, BCG and mag(s)? Plus maybe a little Dremel work on the feed ramps?

My 7.62x39 upper from Hardened Arms in Friday Harbor has been the most reliable upper I've owned. Super fun to shoot.

I bought a inexpensive upper and it was already put together with a bcg for 199 or something. I think it was from 199 uppers or Daytona tactical.

I have a bear creek upper. Sided charge, 16". I only have a couple hundred rounds of Tula steel cased thru it, but it has run flawless. Never did any modifications to it. Use a few cheap steel *39 mags.
