Afaik there’s no paperwork to gift a firearm to a family member.

No paperwork required.

However, when I gifted a lower to my dad, I made him a notarized letter stating it was a freely given gift per the listed RCW and blah blah blah. Bank notorized it for free. It's not required at all, but it made my dad feel a lot better. It also wasn't much work. Copy/paste the RCW, add a bit about the type and serial number, take to the bank for notary.
