Was just cruising Rainier Arms and I saw a new mag extension put out by Tyrant Designs. I'm looking for an extension for my backup mag that's not Hyve or Taran. There really isn't a lot of options out there that don't have that box shape. Have anyone experience with these?

Check out Hyve Technolgies. They have these for the Shield and Glocks.

Are those for the 7 or 8 round mags?

The Shield is a nice, concealable, slim pistol. The 8rd mags are perfect for a full grip, though when i carry my PC i seat the 7rd mag in place to make it print even less.
If you want more capacity, buy a doublestack. When the butt is longer than the barrel, it's time to go home. Kinda like the bar at 2:00 AM.

Doesn't everyone have a Pistol for what the occasion calls for?

Tend to agree. The point of these micro-carries is they are tiny.

I have the Walther PPS and the Kahr P9 in these size guns; 6 or 7 rounds is ideal and 8 is a bit big for their purpose. If the goal is to plus up the gun to 9+ rounds it defeats the purpose and it's time to simply go double-stack. The G26 is .1 inch thicker and holds 10+1 and you can carry happy sticks as reloads. Nothing spells confidence like one or two 33 round mags on the hip...
