Finish is garbage.... anything over 12 rounds is near impossible to get in... the inside feels like it's lined in sandpaper and the follower has a ton of friction.
Even after cleaning and lubing, pressing the follower down feels like someone dumped a bunch of sand in the mag....
This sucks... the last batch I got a couple years ago worked great and were near OEM quality.... This whole batch sucks donkey dick.
Looking up reports online shows the issue started last year....and is ongoing..
The only solution appears to be to sand the inside of the magwell.
Function is fine, other than needing the strength of Hercules to load anything more than 12 rds... Well, there IS one other solution - locate the nearest round file, and unceremoniously dump them into it.

Did a backyard shoot.
Worked out some issues with the AR45, but happy to report the brass catcher blocks all that pesky blowback crud.
Did some Mozambiques with a .44 Magnum...doable but don't recommend :). First rounds through my Python. Not real happy with the single action trigger (the break is pretty stiff) and the charge holes are on the tight side. The latter is OK in a range toy but the former is not; need to find a gunsmith that can fix the California trigger.
Kid tried a lever action and an AR10 and still wants to hunt with a bolt action. It's what she's used to and sure, they are simpler.
Finished the time with the P17 + Spectre II and a selection of old .22 and .38 revolvers. Steel coconut water cans are proof against glancing strikes from slow wadcutters...in case you were wondering.

Managed to get some range time with a Yugoslavian M24/47 and a Romanian M44 Mosin. First time firing these two, lots of fun (M44 kicks like a mule with 182 grain).

Installed a new RMRcc on my Staccato P DUO using a CHPWS plate adapter. Surprisingly not that bad, I was a little concerned about the smaller window but I can pick the dot up just fine. And no slide overhang.
CHPWS plate is lower than the DP plate, but I’m definitely not a fan of the rear sight serrations. Too shallow and do nothing to reduce glare.

Got a gently used Weatherby Vanguard Camilla in 7mm-08 for the kiddo interested in deer/elk. A $800 rifle designed specifically for the gals, $300 Nikon scope, and $150 worth of ammo for $650. Couldn't pass it up. Summertime truly is the best time to get deals on private sales IME.

Just got home from a VERY SPECIAL day at the range.... We had a new participant at the 500 yard firing line today. Shelby is the 11 year old daughter of one of our Board Members and good friend of mine. This is the first time that she has had the opportunity to shoot 500 yards after completing her qualification. I would say she did quite well. Congratulations Shelby!!

We had a new participant at the 500 yard firing line today. Help me with the scale here. Is that 10 shots in a roughly 2" group at 500 yards? And what was the gun?

The "X" ring is 2.5" and the "10" ring is 5" So if drop a flyer or two, it is an awesome group The grid you are seeing is a 1 MOA setting (roughly 5" for the slow learners...LOL) The gun was a Cooper in 223 with 50gr V-Max bullets.

So her entire group was sub-2 MOA, including the fliers. The main group is 1 MOA at the biggest, maybe less. At 500 frickin' yards. Keep that shit at YOUR range . . . I don't need that kind of competition! Seriously though . . . WOW. Good for her, that's some impressive shooting!
