Honestly I don't think you're going to find a shop to custom make targets cheaper than what you can find online.

Honestly I don't think you're going to find a shop to custom make targets cheaper than what you can find online. I got a 15"x12" 3/8" AR400 plate cut from a larger piece for $20. Just a few minutes down the street at Interwest Metals which is next to the Harley shop. The owner is a shooter and they have a mega ton of metals. Who doesn't like going to the hardware store? For me that's a win/win. They even had some 5/8" for those that like shoot full power rifle magnum loads at 50 yds and get ricochet frags. I've attempted getting at the plate with my mill and some carbide cutters. That stuff has a core that is HARD, so it seems. I had some nice chips to start but soon after, nothing. I even went about annealing the two spots I want to put the holes in. Still no go. I may just stick to setting it against a berm until I get something figured out.

Guessing it work hardened as you were drilling it. Were you using a drill press? what speed?

Picked up a ruger/magpull 10/22 takedown and went thru 250 rds in my g43, happy that talon grips made me shoot it as good as the rental p365, thus saving me $500 on a new one

Finally assembled my .300 BLK upper for my SBR. Been slowly acquiring the parts as they went on sale or popped up on the classifieds for a good price. Olympic Cerakote did the FA and dust cover in FDE for me...miraculously, they very closely match the FDE controls on my lower that were done 2 years ago.
