Unloaded a fair bit of 22lr and 9mm the other day at a friends range, gotta love a 10/22 and a Henry lever action. :thumbsup2:

Winchester 61 in 22WMR is not extracting reliably.

Disassembling and cleaning ... still not good.

Extractor doesn't look worn but might need a new one.

What a laser beam! Coyotes are gonna die.

Closer inspection under magnification revealed a small burr on the extractor. A couple swipes with a jeweler's file got things smoothed out.

Works just fine now!

Our club opened up the 500 yard range for Members all day today.
One of our Board Members and I ran the day.
It was amazing to watch people of all ages and skill levels trying this out. Some for the very first time.
Our ShotMarker electronic targets make this easy and virtually eliminates any "downtime".

We had 15 shooters and 2 fireplaces blazing.

Great time had by all!

That's awesome. I bet there are a ton of people who just don't know how to get started with long-range, or are afraid to try. Kudos to you guys for making it happen, it would be nice if other ranges did the same.

Yeah, I bet, that's probably especially important with a bunch of newbs.

Is there any part of the system that's vulnerable to being shot, especially with newbs on the trigger?

In the 3 years that we have been using the ShotMarker system, we have only had one transmitter shot and it was shot at a sanctioned match...

No part of the system is visible to the shooter.
The transmitter that was shot was the result of a poor load or other equipment malfunction that allowed a round to fly at a trajectory that barely cleared the concrete wall and "lobed" into the below line of sight transmitter.

We do require a 200 yard qualification and demonstration of basic scope "dope" skills before moving to 500.
It has worked out great.

Put a few rounds down range this evening. Range is open 7 days a week, no charge, no waiting for a lane and no membership required. Even better, no old crusty d-bag RSO’s that graduated the NRA range course back in 1972 to tell you have to fire one round every 5 minutes. This range was open for rapid fire, draw from the holster and even fire transition from long gun to handgun or a shotgun. No problem.

This guy looks and sounds very familiar. Oh, don't even think about coming down to my range with one of those 'pistol braces' either. Them are I-L-Legal.

Went shooting at a new place Sunday, knew the people next door years ago but never knew this guy was friends with the SIL.
The grandkids had a blast shooting their cricket .22 single shot rifle. Finally got the guns cleaned yesterday.
Get this, the property owner said he’d like to cook us some BBQ next time we come out!!! :thumbsup2:
