Hey guys.. I could use some help to ID this oil bottle.

Approximately 4"

It looks similar to one's associated with WWI Enfield rifles. But maybe someone just made it? No markings. Suggestions and opinions welcome.

I posted this on my collectors weekly forum, but no help so far.

The screw on the side does not screw all the way down..that makes me think that it attached to something? The side hole bottoms out and it not connected to the tube. It does have the same thread cut as the top cap.

FYI It had a patina but I cleaned it up really good to see if there was any markings under it.

It kinda looks like a combo nipple pick / nipple wrench for a muzzleloader, not an oil bottle.

I can't figure out how you get leverage to use it as a nipple wrench, though . . . .

It’s for oiling fishing reels.
I have a similar one at home that is engraved on the top “ Shakespeare “
Mine is nickel plated brass. It does not have that screw on the side. But does have the same wire/needle in the cap.
I’ll post a photo of it tonight when I get home.

Thanks for the replies and suggestion. The WW 1 & II Enfield rifle does have a similar oil bottle, but the inside piece looks like a small spoon or screwdriver shape.
