Or what do you think it should be?

The State of Liberty folks ran through this a few years ago and I think it became option of Ar15 or M1A.

Tennessee has a Barrett.

Iowa is considering a few law changes and the author of this piece thinks they should adopt a State Gun, too..

I think the Detonics 1911 would be a good candidate.

Well seeing as a state sport is Pickleball it’s probably going to be a pickle gun. But that’s even too scary for the puthies running the show. :ROFLMAO:

So... at the range one day watching a feller shoot an antique (looking?) black powder rifle, and after inquiring about the provenance of said rifle... he embarked on a story (tale?) the details of which, in my addled recollection went something like this:

Back in the Washington state "indian wars" there was an incident - like a homestead being burned or some such other act which was viewed as an "indian" insurrection or act of war - folks took to self defense...

but lacking the means to arm their newly formed militia, or posse... the men assembled at a Yakima(?) general store which, at the time sold these black powder guns and had some few of them in stock.

Now these homesteaders took those guns into the skirmish; the rest being history.

Now the thing is, me having other things on my mind that day, filed the story in the back of my mind for further examination at a later date. Problem is, since I imperfectly recalled the details of that story, my subsequent research into the matter was i initiated with a poor foundation, and while I have attempted to substantiate his story, I failed to find the rifle or account of the events he related.

As I recall, he said the name brand of the rifle was Star, or Starr.

In any event, my nomination for a State gun would be a rifle used in those early days. A Star rifle from that incident if in fact one exists.

One of those clown guns, but instead of the flag that pops out and says "Bang" it's a rainbow flag?
